Branding Project -Lion’s Den Tattoo Parlor

Prompt: Design a brand for your partner based on their vibe and create 6-8 mock-ups.
For this project I created mock-ups for a tattoo parlor for my partner, Nishka. Nishka is originally from India so for my logo I wanted to represent that part of her. The 4 lion heads represent Indias national emblem which has 4 lions. The typography is typical typography you would see at a tattoo parlor so that customers will know what the shop is just by the typeface.

Process:
My process always begins with research. I began this project by researching tons of tattoo parlors, their logos, and their typography. I then created a mood board off of my parter Nishka’s vibe and personality. I knew I wanted to incorporate Nishka’s nationality into her tattoo parlor since it is such a big part of who she is. I made sure to research all about India and their nation. With the information of India and of tattoo parlors, I began my ideation process. I did lots of sketching and created a lot of ideas, until I got my final logo. I got my 4 lion head idea from Indias national emblem. After I decided on my logo, I created a color palette based off of her vibe. Tattoo parlors also use a darker grunge color palette so I took that along with considering her personality and mood board to create a dark complimentary color palette. I then created mockups for a tattoo shop, merch, and advertising!
